Zoya's grandmother's house

We visited Ravi's mom yesterday—I wish I had taken more pictures, but I feel bad about taking people's pictures doing regular things. She made lunch for me, Hema, Ravi, Hema's uncle and Zoya. These can be enlarged with a click.

She showed me her saris. She has her wedding sari and her mother's wedding sari. This photo will not show the feel of all the silk, and I didn't take photos while we were unfolding and admiring them. Sorry. But this will help me remember.

Ravi's mom used to teach history and geography to 13 year olds, so we had that in common (teaching mid-school/Jr. high). His dad was an English professor and she married for love, rather than arrangement, when she was a student at the college where he taught. Their parents knew and approved, though. Ravi's dad died fifteen years ago.
